Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30am, by appointment, deliberately while the rooms are full and working. Allow an hour. If neither day works, tell us and we will find something else.

Should I bring my child on a tour?

You are welcome to. Some parents find it easier to look without them; either is fine, and bringing a baby is completely normal.

Do I need to be on the waitlist to tour?

No, and we would rather you toured first. The application fee is non-refundable and there is no sense paying it for a place you have not stood in.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 in the morning

Deliberately mid-morning, while the rooms are full, loud and part-way through something. We do not tour on a quiet afternoon, because a quiet afternoon tells you nothing.

Licence, hours and ratios

Not brand — never recoloured

Licensing authority: Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care, Office of Child Care
Licence type: Certified Child Care Center (the licence class this fictional centre is written as)
Licence number: Not published. A real centre’s certificate number is on the certificate by its front door and in the state’s public register; this demonstration has none, and printing an invented one in the state’s format could collide with a working centre’s.
Licensed capacity: 62 children across five rooms (a figure invented for this demonstration)
Accreditation: None claimed. This site asserts no NAEYC accreditation, no Spark rating and no quality-rating level of any kind. Ask a real centre for its certificate and check the status with the awarding body rather than with the centre’s website.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm
Closures: Closed weekends, federal holidays, and for five professional-development days a year (published each August).
Tours: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30am, by appointment
Subsidies accepted: Oregon ERDC · Multnomah County Preschool for All

Staff-to-child ratios and maximum group sizes, held continuously through the day
Room	Ages	Meadow ratio	Group size	Oregon maximum
Infants	6 wks – 12 mo	1 : 3	6	1 to 4 · group 8
Toddlers	12 – 24 mo	1 : 3	6	1 to 4 · group 8
Twos	2 – 3 yrs	1 : 4	8	1 to 5 · group 10
Preschool	3 – 4 yrs	1 : 7	14	1 to 10 · group 20
Pre-K	4 – 5 yrs	1 : 8	16	1 to 10 · group 20

Ratio is counted per room and is not averaged across the day. Oregon maximums are set by the Office of Child Care for certified centers and are revised from time to time — check the current rule with the state rather than relying on any centre's website, including this one.

Allergies and medication. Every child with a diagnosed allergy or chronic condition has a written care plan signed by their physician before their first day. Epinephrine is stored unlocked and at room temperature in the child's own room. All medication requires written authorisation and the original labelled container, and every dose is logged. Nothing is given on a verbal instruction.Full policy
Authorised pickup. Only adults named on your written, signed pickup list may collect your child. We ask for photo identification from anyone we do not know by sight, every time. Changes are made in writing, and a phoned change is confirmed by calling you back on the number in your file before it takes effect.Full policy
Safe sleep. Infants sleep alone, on their back, in their own crib, on a firm flat mattress with a fitted sheet and nothing else in the crib. Checks are logged every fifteen minutes.Full policy

Demonstration site. Meadow Early Learning is a fictional centre built to demonstrate this website template. There is no licence number, no accreditation and no quality rating on this site because there is nothing real to publish; the address, the phone number, the staff names and the tuition figures are invented. Nothing here should be relied on when choosing care for a child.

No social accounts are linked here. A demo claiming a handle either points at nothing or points at a stranger.
